True Nature Spirits and Ghosts was written and illustrated by my son Sorrel Bergman when he was 6, 7, and 8 years old. I have tried to present the loose pages in chronological order. He told me about his experiences at the time and then I pestered him until he recorded them on paper. I didn't know what to think about fairies before I observed Sorrel's encounters with them, but then I became a believer. Sorrel taught himself to read and write and type during the summer following 1st grade. We were living in a new age spiritual community. For Vitae and me it took up much of our time and energy so that Sorrel spent his days alone reading, writing, and drawing.
